Dugong

What a cute vacuum cleaner!

Class: Mammals
Order: Sea cows

Family: Dugongidae
Habitat: Indian Ocean, Western Pacific

Almost everyone has heard of manatees, but what on Earth is a dugong? This animal, with its strange giant trunk, is a close relative of the manatee. The big difference: manatees live in freshwater and dugongs almost exclusively live in saltwater. The dugong uses its horseshoe-shaped, trunk-like mouth to search the sea floor for seaweed.
