Leafy Seadragon

Animal or seaweed?

Class: Fish
Order: Syngnathiformes

Family: Syngnathidae
Habitat: Australia; costal water up to 164 feet (50 meters) deep

When you look closely, you can see a seahorse-like body. Long, leafy growths make it look like a piece of seaweed. This means that the leafy seadragon is perfectly camouflaged whenever it’s in danger. By the way: this animal can grow to 12-14 inch (30-35 cm) - bigger than a sheet of A4 paper!
