About Famous Dogs and Their Names
Famous Dogs Beginning With C
• Chaser – the dog with the most amazing memory
Chaser understands the names of 1,022 toys and can fetch each of them. With a number like that, we have to wonder: could a human do that? Remember 1,022 names? This Border Collie has managed an impressive feat. She was taught all this by John Pilley, a retired psychologist.
• Caesar – an emperor for a king
Caesar wasn’t just a Roman emperor, he was also a dog. But a very special dog, as he belonged to King Edward VII of Great Britain (1901 - 1910). His Wire Hair Fox Terrier slept on a chair next to his bed and wore a collar that said: “I am Caesar. I belong to the King”. When the king died, he led the procession of mourners (even ahead of the Queen!) to the burial. It just goes to show: the connection between human and animal can be incredibly strong.
• Cassidy – bravest of them all
Cassidy wasn’t doing well when he was found on a highway in Utah (USA) in 2010. He had been run over by a car and was lying there completely scared and starving. Both of his front legs had to be amputated by a vet. But dogs never give up hope. They are “hearts on four legs”, as the Irish say. And Cassidy’s heart is so big that he was still loving and trusting despite everything. As a kind of ambassador, he accompanies his owner to talks about disability to show people that everyone is different and special.
Movie Dogs Beginning With C
• Chase – a dog bound by duty
Chase is a police dog in the show PAW Patrol, and proves to everyone that he’s a born leader because he is so aware of his duties. Of course, he is just as playful as the other team members during his time off work.

• Chips – the true soldier
During the Second World War, Chips’ owner and his comrades came under fire. Chips jumped into the bunker that the attack was coming from and attacked the men. They fled outside to get away from the dog, where they were caught by American soldiers. Chips was given several honors and awards. He was a cross between German Shepherd, Collie and Siberian Husky.
Record Breakers Beginning With C
• Cinderella – jumps like a world champion
Do you do agility sport with your dog? Can your dog jump extremely high? Cinderella is the name of the dog that managed to set the Guinness World Record. She jumped 172.7 cm! That’s as high as an adult human. So Cinderella could easily jump over you. She’s a Greyhound by the way (a kind of Sighthound).
• Chanel – sweet old lady
Dachshund Chanel was the oldest dog in the world. She was born in 1988 and died at 21 years old. Small to medium sized dogs are known for living longer than large dogs. But 21 years? That’s really impressive! She can thank her owner for her wonderful years, as she got her from a shelter as a puppy. Do you wish your dog will live to be just as old as Chanel?
