Axolotl Characteristics

Axolotls are caudates that spend their whole life as larvae. They are extremely cute and fun to watch. As long as you keep to a few important ground rules, axolotls are easy to keep as pets.

Please note: axolotls are not cuddly pets. They don’t like being picked up or carried. These animals are, however, great to watch.

It’s very important that the water doesn’t get too hot. It should be between 53.6 and 68 degrees Fahrenheit (12 and 20 degrees Celsius). The water quality must also be monitored (e.g. water filters).
