2. Submissions

Please do not send us any personal data. No photos, no texts, no address, no phone number. Why? The General Data Protection Regulation has introduced new rules for the handling of personal data since 25.05.18. Children's website operators have to obtain the parents' consent for processing personal data of children under the age of 16. They would have to obtain it prior to recieving personal data and they would be liable if the consent is not authentic. Unfortunately we cannot meet these requirements. If you have a question, please ask your parents to send us an email. We will gladly answer.

3. Privacy

Your safety and data protection are important to us. That’s why we’d like to explain to you when we collect what kind of data on animalfunfacts.net.

IP Address

Whenever you use the internet, you automatically leave information behind, like a footprint in the sand. The same goes for visits to animalfunfacts.net. But just like with a footprint, we won’t know your name, address or any other personal information. We only collect information e.g. which pages have been clicked on or how long someone spent exploring animalfunfacts.net - without knowing who that person is.

This information is transferred from your computer using your “IP address” (IP stands for “internet protocol”). This “address” doesn’t tell anyone the street you live on or the city you live in. It’s just a long number that you couldn’t use the internet without. On animalfunfacts.net, your IP is automatically shortened (“anonymized”) so that we can only see part of your footprint.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that allow information about your device to be saved on your device. Cookies allow us to collect statistics about website use. animalfunfacts.net uses these to find out which pages our visitors like the most. This lets us make our website more interesting and varied for you.

Please note: the website’s user-friendliness will be limited without cookies. You can use your browser’s settings to prevent cookies from being saved or to make your computer ask you each time before a cookie is saved. You can also delete cookies that have already been saved. You can find out more about cookies and how to deactivate them in our Data Protection Policy. Ask your parents, relatives, or friends if you need help with deleting or disabling cookies.
