Walking Leaf Characteristics

Walking leaves belong to the phasmid family. They stand out from other members of this family because they look like leaves. Just like stick insects, they’re harmless and easy to keep in a terrarium. They might not live for very long but, as long as you feed them and look after them well, you’ll be able to enjoy the next generation.

You can find out more about this animal in our Walking Leaf Facts.

Please note: walking leaves are not cuddly pets. They don’t like being picked up or carried. These animals are, however, great to watch.

How to Keep Them

Terrarium: at least 16 x 24 x 16 inches (40 x 60 x 40 cm) for approx. 10 animals (W x H x D)

The terrarium must have a humidity level of 60-70%. You can collect their favorite food, bramble leaves, from wild plants.
